MT. OTAY, SAN DIEGO REPEATER                                     (posted June 8, 2008)
The BARN 446.720- (100.0) San Diego repeater has been relocated to Mt Otay.  This will give BARN members better coverage in the Southern San Diego area.   Let Alan - WB6T know what you think for the coverage for this new repeater.  Please note the new PL is 100.0 Hz.


SANTIAGO PEAK 145.160- REPEATER BACK ON THE AIR     (posted June 1, 2008)
The 145.160- Repeater on Santiago Peak is now back on the air after much needed repairs .  We had a small work party make a trip up the big hill on Memorial Day and replace the 2-meter repeater power supply.  After 20 years, the Astron power supply finally gave out.


NEWPORT BEACH 145.160- REPEATER UPDATE                 (posted May 10, 2008)
The 145.160- (156.7) Repeater has some intermittent interference on the input.  This problem comes and goes.  But most of the time it's ok.  Kevin will be making a trip to this site to check things out shortly.  But as of right now, you can use it with no problems.


BAKER 446.900- REPEATER UPDATE                                    (posted May 1, 2008)
The 446.900- (123.0) Repeater located NE of Baker, CA had an antenna problem.  Kevin has gone up and temp. added a UHF antenna to keep the repeater on the air.  The UHF antenna will be replaced along with the feedline this Summer.  This repeater continues to operate normally, but with a slight decrease in coverage area.


EARTHQUAKE SEISMIC SENSOR BACK ON THE AIR            (posted April 25, 2008)
The ALERT Seismic Sensor is back up and running.  The use, dial in 446.900 MHz with a CTCSS enc and dec of 186.2 Hz.  This will keep your radio's speaker quiet unless the seismic tone comes through.  The ALERT seismic sensor is up and running 24 hours a day.  The sensor's Calibration tones can be heard every evening between 10pm and 10:15pm.  Quakes producing the quivering seismometer tones that last 30 seconds or more are above a Magnitude 3.0 will be heard.



NEW LAS VEGAS REPEATER INSTALLED            (posted April 9, 2008)
Just in time for the Baker 2 Vegas Race.  BARN has installed a new repeater to replace the 15 years old box on our frequency of 449.950- . This new repeater on Mt. Potosi has never worked better.  Coverage is from Barstow to St. George, UT and Kingman, AZ and beyond.
